Tullylagan Country House Wedding - Cara & Damien / by Brideen Baxter

When you are checking the weather forecast before a wedding, the last thing you want to see is a warning of heavy gales, rain and sleet. That’s exactly what was predicted when our friends Cara and Damien got married earlier this month. Deci and I wrapped up in our warmest clothes and expected the worst.  I’ve no idea if it was fate, Karma, God or just a little luck, but the weather turned from the most horrendous we could imagine to a gorgeous, crisp winter evening at Tullylagan House with a beautiful blue sky and sunset!

I’ve known Cara for over 20 years and she is one of my closest friends – we loved getting to spend so much time with her and Damien on her wedding.  She not only looked so so beautiful, she also powered through the freezing cold weather without complaining once.  Bridesmaids Fionnuala and Christina were on hand with warm coats and blankets – necessities for any December wedding and perfect for some cosy bridesmaid photos.

One of the highlights of the night was when our friend Michelle organised a surprise reformation of our drum group from school!  We invited Cara up to perform with us and their fantastic wedding band, Jazz Gazette.

I hope everyone had a relaxing, peaceful Christmas and New Year with their families & friends – especially all our couples sharing their first Christmas together as husband and wife! Check back soon for some of our favourite photos from 2013.
