On a gorgeous summer day, standing on a Cliff overlooking the Irish sea, it’s easy to see why people fall in love with Ireland. Daphne and Stuart both live in Hong Kong. Stuart is a city boy who grew up in the heart of Dublin city and Daphne has adopted it as her home from home. Howth, the idyllic peninsula in the suburbs of Dublin, was a perfect setting for their Irish pre-wedding destination shoot.
Even though they aren’t marrying until February, Daphne brought along her gorgeous wedding dress for the shoot. In Hong Kong it’s almost customary now for a bride and groom to get dressed in full wedding clothes for their pre-wedding photographs. I think it’s a great idea – it also meant that they got loads of congratulatory shouts and cheers from random passers-by!
We made sure to leave enough time to fit in a Guinness in the Summit Inn – it would be wrong not to. Daphne had her first ever Irish coffee which I’m pretty sure officially makes her an honorary Irish woman?!
After the shoot we headed into the city to grab some food together (thanks to Stuart’s amazing sister in law for being our chauffeur). Rush-hour Dublin was a bustling and exciting contrast to the tranquility of Howth and we just had to shoot more…
